Fitness Equipment
Your SunCrest Amenity card will also get you access to our Fitness Facility, located on the upper floor of the Community Center. The facility has numerous types of equipment, including treadmills, ellipticals, recumbent bikes, upright bikes, free weights, and more. You must be 16 years of age or older and possess a valid amenity card to use the Fitness Facilities.

What is Zumba?
Zumba is a workout inspired by Latin music and world rhythms. Get your heart rate up with fun dance and fitness moves designed to boost cardio endurance, relieve stress, and get happy!! Zumba also helps improve coordination and flexibility. 
All levels of fitness are welcome! The moves can be modified to decrease or increase the intensity based on fitness needs. It's fun! The more you enjoy your workouts, the easier it is to stick to them, right?! So, ditch the workout, and join the party! 
 
 
Get to know Julie: 
I am a certified group exercise instructor and a licensed Zumba instructor. I’ve taught various class formats besides Zumba, including Pound, HIIT, boot camp, kickboxing, Pilates, Bosu, etc. Fun fact: I taught my first group exercise class when I was 12 years old! I started teaching Zumba 15 years ago, when I was in the Air Force, looking for something new to try. I’ve been hooked ever since!
I started teaching Zumba at the Suncrest clubhouse in 2020 and taught until March, when COVID hit. It’s time to get back in the groove!
I live in Edelweiss with my family. Although we are empty nesters now, it’s just my husband (and dog, “Mike”) and me! I love dancing, running, shopping and games. I’m a tree lover from Oregon, and now enjoying the beautiful mountains here in Utah. 
I invite you to come out to try a class. I would love to meet you!
Yoga
Join instructor Jennifer Mason at the Suncrest clubhouse for an engaging style of yoga that connects breath and fluid movement to improve strength and flexibility while calming the mind. A regular yoga practice can help reduce stress, alleviate back pain, improve posture and manage chronic stress.    
 
Thursdays: 7 - 8:15 pm
$15 per class
$10 per class if prepaid an entire month upfront.

Pilates 
 
Pilates is a low-impact, full-body strengthening practice with an emphasis on core strength, spinal health, and mobility, body and breath awareness. Pilates is rehabilitative, and regular practice of pilates will improve posture and alignment, overall body strength, muscle tone, balance, flexibility, and mobility.  
 
Laura is a Suncrest resident and has been in the fitness industry for over twenty years. Laura is a Pilates Master Teacher, NCPT Pilates Teacher, NASM Certified Personal Trainer, and Nutrition Coach. Other Certifications include TRX, Functional Movement Specialist, CPR/AED, and Barre Above.

Suncrest Hikers
 
The Suncrest Hiking group will be exploring many trails in the nearby mountains. These hikes will alternate between beginners, intermediate, and experts.

Goju Kyokai Karate
 
Having fun is an essential portion of our traditional Japanese curriculum, and learning fitness and flexibility to create a strong, healthy, well-rounded student. We strive to teach traditional karate and incorporate other "styles" of self-defense techniques. Classes are held each Wednesday night. There's no cost to attend, but donations are encouraged to help cover room rental costs. Check out their flyer for more info!
